Two Death Row Inmates' Attempts To Block Executions Denied By Judge

(Richland County, SC) -- The request to stop the executions of two death row inmates is being denied.

A judge in Richland County made that ruling, allowing the two executions to move forward under a new law that requires the inmates to choose death by electric chair or firing squad.

Brad Sigmon is scheduled for execution on June 18th and Freddie Owens on June 25th.

Their attorneys have been fighting the executions, arguing the method of death should be lethal injection because that was the law when they were sentenced.
