Lexington Richland Five Releases Agreement With Outgoing Superintendent

(Columbia, SC) -- Lexington Richland School District Five is releasing details of its agreement with its resigning superintendent. 

Dr. Christina Melton will be paid over $226,000 to end her contract two years earlier than originally planned. 

Her departure was described as a mutual decision, with a $20,000 fine if either party speaks badly of the other as part of the agreement. 

Melton's last day is June 30th, and Dr. Akil Ross will begin as interim superintendent on July 1st.
