Mayor Of Swansea Indicted By Grand Jury For Alleged Embezzlement

(Swansea, SC) -- The mayor of Swansea is now indicted by a grand jury. 

Jerald Sanders is facing charges for felony embezzlement of public funds less than $10,000 and misdemeanor misconduct in office. 

Sanders is accused of writing checks to himself from the Town of Swansea between December of 2019 and January of 2020. 

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
