AAP Recommends Students Wear Masks, DHEC Working On Back-To-School Guidance

(Columbia, SC) -- The Department of Health and Environmental Control is planning to release COVID-19 back-to-school guidance soon.

Though the agency is working on a plan, school districts in the state are not able to require students and staff to wear face masks. That's due to a proviso signed by Governor McMaster that went into effect this month.

This comes as new guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends students wear masks.
