Orangeburg Man Pleads Guilty To Shooting Police

(Lexington County, SC) -- An Orangeburg man is admitting to shooting police.

Twenty-three-year-old Eugene Jonathon James pleaded guilty to a slew of charges this week, including attempted murder and failure to stop for blue lights.

As part of a negotiated sentence, James will serve a 20-year state sentence consecutive to a 10-year federal sentence.

This comes after he fired at two officers with a stolen pistol in May of 2017. Each officer was shot but survived their injuries.
