DHEC Recommending Masks Indoors, Even For Vaccinated

(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is recommending masks in indoor public spaces even if you're vaccinated.

The new guidance is in line with new CDC recommendations that were announced Tuesday. This comes as the Delta variant brings a surge in coronavirus cases in the U.S., especially among the unvaccinated.

But, the CDC says vaccinated people can still become infected with a "breakthrough" case, though the illness tends to be more mild.
