South Carolina Senators Call For Special Session On Masks In Schools

(Columbia, SC) -- Some South Carolina lawmakers want a special session at the statehouse.

Senators Brad Hutto, Ronnie Sabb, Luke Rankin, and Sandy Senn sent a letter to the Senate President with their request.

They want to reconsider the budget proviso that says school districts that enact mask mandates will not receive funding.

This comes as COVID-19 cases are up in South Carolina and several school districts have experienced outbreaks of the virus amid in-person learning.
