Governor McMaster Requests Information On South Carolinians In Afghanistan

(Columbia, SC) -- Governor Henry McMaster is trying to determine the status of South Carolinians in Afghanistan.

Governor McMaster sent a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Tuesday requesting information on any locals still in the middle-eastern country as it falls to the Taliban.

In the letter, McMaster asks how many South Carolinians remain in Afghanistan and requests details on the evacuation plans for those individuals.

The move comes as the United States continues to evacuate citizens from the country amid the Taliban takeover.
