(Richland County, SC) -- A mask mandate goes into effect in Richland School District Two today.
This comes after a federal judge blocked a proviso in the state budget that was prohibiting schools from requiring face coverings. Students and staff will be required to wear face masks in schools.
The district's superintendent says he believes the mandate will help keep the learning environment safe and healthy for all students.
