Periodic High Tides Cause Flooding In Charleston

(Charleston, SC) -- Officials in Charleston are monitoring flooding after periodic higher tides over the weekend.

High water closed roads downtown and caused the cancellation of the Veterans Day parade that was planned for Saturday.

The high tide in Charleston Harbor on Sunday reached 8.5 feet-- the 10th highest level recorded at that site.

Meteorologists say a storm off the Southeast coast along with King Tides were the cause.
