DMV Bringing Back In-Car Road Tests As COVID-19 Cases Decline

(Columbia, SC) -- The Department of Motor Vehicles is bringing in-car road tests back.

The DMV will have walk-in tests for driver's licenses this morning before opening up appointments for afternoon tests.

Because of an increase in COVID-19 cases in August, the agency had been giving driving tests with the driver alone in the car and the DMV worker outside.

The return of in-car road tests comes as cases of the virus decline in the Palmetto state.
