Man Sentenced For 2019 Crash That Injured Lexington County Deputy

(Lexington County, SC) -- A man will spend years in prison for a crash that injured a Lexington County Sheriff's Department official. 

Thirty-eight-year-old Michael Nichols pled guilty to felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily harm. 

Nichols received a 15-year sentence, suspended to an active sentence of eight years, followed by five years of probation. 

The sentence comes as a result of a 2019 crash that left Deputy Roy Hall injured to the point where he can no longer serve as a law enforcement officer.
