17-Year-Old Student Charged After Allegedly Bringing Loaded Gun To School

(Columbia, SC) -- A teenager is facing charges after allegedly bringing a loaded gun to school. 

School administrators at Richland Northeast High School found the gun in a 17-year-old's backpack. 

A School Resource Officer then took possession of the gun and took the teen into custody. 

The student is charged with possession of a firearm on school property, possession of a pistol under 18, possession of a stolen firearm, and unlawful carry of a handgun.
