(Spartanburg, SC) - A lawmaker from Spartanburg is proposing legislation that would reduce state income tax.
State Senator Josh Kimbrell filed a bill this month to take South Carolina's top income tax rate of 7-percent and cut it to 3.5 percent.
The bill would also get rid of income tax for businesses.
Kimbrell says closing special interest loopholes and exemptions in the state sales tax would ensure the state had enough funds to make these changes.
