New DHEC Recommendation For Some Waiting For COVID-19 Test Results

(Columbia, SC) -- State health officials have a new recommendation for some South Carolina residents who were tested for COVID-19 but have not yet received results.

Those tested for the virus between December 30th and January 3rd are being asked to get re-tested.

This comes as the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is experiencing a backlog at one of the state's contracted labs, causing delays.

Though the lab is working to catch up on tests, DHEC says waiting may not be the best option for those who need their test results.
