Lexington Richland District 5 Needs Substitute Teachers Amid COVID Surge

(Irmo, SC) -- Lexington Richland School District 5 is in need of substitute teachers. 

They're issuing an urgent call to the community for anyone who can help as they try to keep schools open despite an increase in COVID-19 cases across the district. 

Their schools hit a peak of 207 staff absences due to the virus this week. 

This compares to an average of 121 staff absences before winter break.
