South Carolina Senate Passes New Congressional Map

(Columbia, SC) - The South Carolina Senate is advancing the new Congressional map as part of the redistricting process.

The map passed 26 to 15 on Thursday after nearly five hours of debate. The map next heads back to the House for a vote.

If they don't pass it, a smaller group of lawmakers would form a conference committee to reach a compromise.

If the House does agree to the Senate-approved map, it would head to Governor McMaster to be signed into law.
