(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina is setting a new record for highest number of people working.
The Department of Employment and Workforce released data on Tuesday that shows 2021 ended with over two-million people employed- more than 97-thousand over what was reported in December of 2020, and over 21-thousand more than before the pandemic.
The state's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell in December from three-point-seven-percent to three-point-five-percent.
Officials expect that number to drop even further in 2022.
