South Carolina Lawmakers Considering "School Choice" Bills

(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina lawmakers are considering legislation that would expand "school choice" in the state.

One bill would allow families to enroll in public school districts outside of their district, while another would let families get funding for private school.

The SC Association of School Administrators and the SC School Boards Association supported the open enrollment bill that went before the Senate Education Subcommittee on Wednesday.

The next meeting on the proposed measure has not yet been scheduled.
