South Carolina Senate Passes Tax Cut And Rebate Bill

(Columbia, SC) - The South Carolina Senate is advancing a tax cut and rebate bill. 

The Senate's legislation would send about one-billion dollars in rebates to taxpayers after they filed, and use another one-billion on cutting the state's top income tax rate. 

The bill passed unanimously by the Senate differs from the bill passed by the House last month. 

Now the two chambers will have to negotiate before sending a measure to the governor's desk.
