(Columbia, SC) -State lawmakers are advancing an omnibus bill on education.
After 18 hours of public testimony on five bills, the House Education and Public Works Committee made a new 10-page bill that compiled different elements of the proposed measures.
The 12 Republicans on the committee voted for the bill, and the five Democrats voted against it.
The proposed legislation now heads to the House floor and could be debated this week.
