Medical Marijuana Bill To Get Public Testimony Monday

(Columbia, SC) -Public testimony for a medical marijuana legalization bill is planned for Monday.

The South Carolina Senate passed the SC Compassionate Care Act in early February, but not much action has happened on the measure since.

Now the House Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee will hear from the public next week before discussing the bill for possible advancement to the House floor.

The proposed legislation would allow people with a dozen medical conditions to get a prescription for marijuana oils, salves, patches and vaporizers- but smoking it would still be illegal.
