Governor McMaster Supports Possible Overturning Of Roe v. Wade

(Columbia, SC)-- South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster is speaking out in favor of stricter abortion restrictions and bans.

This comes after a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion showed the high court plans to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade case from 1973.

South Carolina's "Fetal Heartbeat Bill" could go into effect depending on the Supreme Court ruling. That would ban most abortions in the state after around six-weeks.

McMaster says he will call a special legislative session if necessary to ensure abortion legislation is in place should the Supreme Court overturn Roe.
