(Columbia, SC) - The Riverbanks Zoo is seeking funding for improvements from Richland County and Lexington County.
The zoo is petitioning for 80-million dollars. That money would be used to fund a project, including increased parking, new animal exhibits, upgrades to a tiger exhibit, and increased visitor amenities like restaurants and restrooms.
Richland County included the petition in their meeting this week, but they plan to meet with their financial consultant to review the request.
