South Carolina's Fetal Heartbeat Act In Effect

(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina's Fetal Heartbeat Act is now in effect.

The U.S. District Court of South Carolina stayed the injunction that was blocking the law.

This comes after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday.

South Carolina's law bans any abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, with exceptions in the case of rape or incest under 20 weeks into the pregnancy.
