RCSD One To Install Metal Detectors In Middle & High Schools

(Richland County, SC)-- The state's ninth-largest school district is working to add metal detectors to its middle schools and high schools.

The school board for Richland School District One approved the purchase of 31 metal detectors Tuesday night.

It's a step the superintendent says they've been considering since a 2019 stabbing at A.C. Flora High School.

Installations will begin at the high schools, with the first batch completed by mid-September.
