LR5 School District To Scan Visitors For Weapons With New Tech

(Lexington County, SC)-- The Lexington-Richland School District is adding weapons detectors to their schools.

Visitors will have to walk through the OpenGate Weapons Detection Systems, which scans them and beeps red if it detects a weapon or sharp object.

Over 430-thousand dollars was spent on the new technology. Students will not be scanned, but this could change as the district expands their plan.
