(Columbia, SC)-- Attorneys for convicted double murderer and disbarred South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh are filing a motion for a new trial.
Murdaugh was convicted in March of killing his wife Maggie and son Paul.
At a news conference Tuesday, his legal team claimed a county clerk had private talks with jurors and may have influenced them.
They are requesting an FBI investigation into the clerk's actions.
The defense team said South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has ten days to respond to their motion.
