(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina's highest court is clearing the way for an execution by firing squad. The state's supreme court rejected an appeal from Brad Sigmon, who is scheduled to be executed Friday. Sigmon is convicted in the 2001 double murder of his ex-girlfriend's parents in Greenville County. Sigmon's execution is set to be the first by firing squad to take place in 15 years.
