Dylann Roof's Motion To Avoid Death Penalty Denied By Federal Court

(Charleston, SC) - Attorneys for Dylann Roof are filing a motion to avoid the death penalty. Roof is the man convicted of killing nine people at Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston in 2015. An over 300-page document was filed by Roof's defense team on April 17th in a federal South Carolina Court- trying to vacate the death sentence in the case. The filing alleges the federal judge overseeing the case was biased against Roof. The federal court has already responded to the motion- denying it because the matter was already addressed, according to the court.
