Strict Traffic Enforcement In Lexington For First Day Of School

Lexington town officials are strictly enforcing traffic rules as kids head back for the first day of school.

Lexington police are putting a full staff of officers at roads leading to more than a half-dozen schools today as part of a School Zone Traffic Safety Plan.

Some of those schools include Lexington Elementary and Middle schools and River Bluff High School.

Authorities are advising drivers to allow for extra time due to the influx of tourists in the Carolinas who watched yesterday's solar eclipse.
