The coastal Carolinas are under tropical storm advisories due to a disturbance expected to become Tropical Storm Irma.
The National Hurricane Center said late last night that Potential Tropical Cyclone Ten had winds of 35-miles-per-hour and was stationary in movement, located about 185 miles south-southwest of Charleston.
The storm is expected to become Tropical Storm Irma sometime today as it moves northwest up the coast and is expected to directly affect the Outer Banks of North Carolina during the day tomorrow.
A tropical storm watch is in effect from South Santee River north to Duck, North Carolina, including Albemarle and Pamlico sounds.
