South Carolina officials are keeping a close eye on Hurricane Irma as it threatens the U.S. Eastern Seaboard by the weekend.
Officials at the National Weather Service in Columbia said yesterday that several projections show that the storm could directly affect the Carolinas.
The storm was upgraded to a Category-Five system with winds of 175 miles per hour as it approached the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico. It's expected to impact Florida's weather by the weekend.
