SC Officials: Solar Eclipse A Blockbuster Economic Windfall

(Columbia, SC)  --  State officials say the solar eclipse was South Carolina's single-biggest tourist event. 

State Parks and Recreation Director Duane Parrish announced yesterday that over a million-and-a-half people flocked to the Palmetto State to watch the eclipse last month.  

He said it helped to generate a 269-million-dollar impact on the state economy.
