(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina will soon make sure every high schooler learns personal finance.
Lawmakers added a provision to the 2022 to 2023 state budget to add the half-credit course, which would be required for graduation.
Regulations for the personal finance course will go before the State Board in the fall before being reviewed in the next legislative session.
Though it's unclear when it will go into effect, South Carolina becomes the 15th state to add the personal finance course to its graduation requirements.
