ISIS Claims Responsibility For Attack In U.S.-Patrolled City In Syria

Syria

ISIS is claiming responsibility for a suicide bomb attack involving American forces in Syria.  At least four U.S. troops have been killed in the U.S.-patrolled city of Manbij.  A number of injuries are also being reported.  It was the first attack on U.S. forces since President Trump announced he would withdraw American troops from Syria.  At the time, Trump claimed victory over ISIS in the war-torn country.  About two-thousand American troops have been stationed in Syria to help combat ISIS. Trump's withdrawal announcement led to the resignation of Defense Secretary James Mattis and considerable criticism in Congress, including from some of Trump's top Republican allies.  The White House says Trump has been fully briefed and is closely-monitoring the situation in Syria after the suicide bomb attack.
