(Columbia, SC) -- A new candidate for office believes public trust needs to be restored to an office now under state investigation.
Attorney Byron Gipson has announced he will run to be Fifth Circuit Solicitor for Richland and Kershaw counties.
Incumbent Dan Johnson is being investigated by SLED for how his office has spent public money, and Gipson says he questions Johnson's integrity.
Gipson says he'll formally file his paperwork to run tomorrow.
