(Mount Pleasant, SC) -- Tim Scott believes President Trump is taking a step in the right direction when it comes to race relations.
On CBS' Face the Nation, the GOP's only black senator said the President's tweet this weekend "condemning all types of racism and acts of violence" was the right thing to do.
Trump sent the message in regards to the anniversary of last year's deadly Charlottesville riot.
Scott spoke out against Trump last year when he put the blame on both sides of the Unite the Right rally, but he says since then Trump's tone has changed.
