(Columbia, SC) -- A Texas man is going to prison for what a judge calls one of the most serious offenses involving a South Carolina teenager.
Robert Christiansen was sentenced yesterday to 20 years in prison for trying to have sex with a 16-year-old girl he met online.
The 58-year-old convinced the girl to get on a bus and visit him in Texas, but police were able to find her before she made it there.
Christiansen pleaded guilty but his lawyer claimed his client deserved a lesser sentence because of mental health issues.
