(Washington, DC) -- Tim Scott is criticizing the governor of Virginia for what he calls a showcase of prejudice and hate.
A photo emerged this weekend from Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam's medical school yearbook that showed a man in blackface and a man in a KKK robe.
Northam apologized for the photo, but Scott, who is the GOP's only black senator, Tweeted that apology does not excuse what Northam did.
Scott called for the people of Virginia to shout far and wide that there are consequences for that kind of conduct, but Northam has since said he is not in the photo.
