(Columbia, SC) -- The state is taking action against an Orangeburg County teacher accused of having sex with a student.
The Board of Education, this week, voted to suspend the license of Artis Coulter, who was charged last week with having sex with a 16-year-old female student.
The 36-year-old Coulter is athletic director and basketball coach at Bethune-Bowman High School and a teacher at the Technology Center.
The SCDE, though, says he poses a threat to the health, safety and welfare of students.
