(Lexington, SC) -- Timothy Jones' children could be alive today if it wasn't for a missed opportunity by social services.
Jones is on trial in Lexington for killing his five children in 2014, and yesterday, a babysitter he hired testified that she called DSS about Jones abusing the children.
She told jurors she saw Jones whip his six-year-old and two-year-old with a belt.
After an earlier visit from DSS, Jones had agreed not to hit the children anymore.
