(Columbia, SC) -- A new South Carolina Senate Committee is working to improve interstates.
The panel of lawmakers wants to widen all interstates to six lanes, with I-26 between Columbia and Orangeburg and I-95 north of Georgia as the priority.
The committee is meeting with transportation officials to determine best practices. They say they are not designed to create a new tax.
