(Columbia, SC) -- Richland and Lexington County school districts are canceling after school activities ahead of the severe weather that's expected throughout the Midlands today.
The National Weather Service is calling for heavy rain, wind, storms, and even possible tornadoes Thursday afternoon.
As of early Thursday, ten area districts have canceled activities planned for after school.
Schools in Aiken County will dismiss classes early today.
