(Spartanburg County, SC) -- Family, friends, and the community are mourning the loss of an Upstate teenager who passed away this week.
The family of 17-year-old Keegan Johnson confirms that the boy died Wednesday morning from a rare form of bacterial meningitis.
Keegan's parents say his sinus infection worsened, eventually leading to the meningitis.
Local health officials confirmed to the school district that no public health action was needed nor was there any threat to other students.
