(Columbia SC) -- Former Vice President Joe Biden is celebrating his decisive victory in South Carolina's Democratic presidential primary. It appears Biden will take home around 50% of the vote in out state.
He appeared at a rally in Columbia and said his campaign is very much alive. Biden's projected win in South Carolina gives his campaign a much-needed jolt ahead of Super Tuesday.
Bernie Sanders will finish a distant second with Tom Steyer third. Following the results Steyer announced he is withdrawing from the race.
Voters in 14 states will cast ballots on Tuesday. Biden said Super Tuesday will be a pivotal moment for the Democratic Party. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders remains the Democratic frontrunner after impressive wins in New Hampshire and Nevada.
