(Columbia, SC) -- Unemployment numbers and benefit claims are growing in South Carolina.
There are over 340-thousand people out of work in the Palmetto State. The Department of Employment and Workforce says their system was not meant to handle this many claims, but has a callback feature to hold the place in line for those calling them.
The agency says claims usually take 14 days to be paid, but may take longer due to the high demand.
