(Columbia, SC) -- A Midlands Tech student is in custody for wire fraud, mail fraud, and possession of machine guns.
The student had been researching mass shootings before allegedly illegally obtaining 90 firearms.
Twenty-five-year-old Edward Daniel Kimpton was also found with 23-thousand rounds of ammunition, tactical gear, gas masks, and body armor.
The case is still under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
