(Columbia, SC) -- The Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 1,636 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the state's confirmed cases total to 87,117.
Forty-eight deaths were newly reported, bringing the total confirmed deaths in South Carolina since the pandemic began to 1,600.
Those deaths occurred over multiple days and are reported once the data is received by DHEC.
