(Columbia, SC) -- Lawsuits are being filed against the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
They allege that four teenage girls were sexually assaulted at the department's Columbia evaluation center. The lawsuits claim a fifth teen was beaten during a riot in December.
The two suits were filed separately by guardians of young women who were in the Department of Juvenile Justice when the incidents allegedly occurred.
